Increased Representation: State & Federal
Capricorn Enterprise knows the value of encouraging government departments to house officers in regional communities and promotes the relocation of departments to the Rockhampton Region.
Strong regional associations with the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) and the Department of Natural Resources and Mines (DNRM) make these departments ideal candidates for relocation to the Rockhampton Region. Existing local facilities, businesses and industry will benefit from convenient regional access to state and federal government departments.
The decentralisation of government departments must be well planned and executed resulting in benefits that clearly outweigh the costs. Decentralisation can be a catalyst for regional growth and with a growing population, job growth follows.
The Rockhampton region offers improved quality of life – with less congestion, shorter commutes and more spacious, convenient locations for residences and businesses. The roll out of the National Broadband Network allows organisations to efficiently deliver their objectives.
Select Committee on Regional Development and Decentralisation – Best practice approaches to regional development, the decentralisation of Commonwealth entities and supporting corporate decentralisation. The Committee produced its final report, Regions at the Ready: Investing in Australia’s Future, tabled on 28 June 2018.
