Following the regional AMIC Qld Sausage King and Best Butchers Burger Competition awards over the weekend, local butcher Kev Brown has secured a swag of awards for his delicious snags. The regional competition is open to all butchers throughout Central Queensland from Tannum Sands in the south to Mackay in the north and west to Alpha. Now it’s off to Brisbane in August to compete in the State Competition at the Ekka.
Kev celebrated 28 years in Business in April had the below comment when asked what was his secret…
“It’s been a labour of love”, said owner, Kev Brown, when asked what the secret to his longevity was. “I have always been a big believer in the saying that ‘people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it’… I am passionate about quality produce and get enjoyment from knowing I’m providing our community with a good product. I haven’t increased the size of my family business, which means over the years I have gotten to know many of my customers by name and can maintain a high level of service. If you have the passion and don’t mind hard work, then success will follow”.
