Young Tourism Leaders announced for 2018!

The Honourable Kate Jones MP, Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development and Minister for the Commonwealth Games and the Honourable Shannon Fentiman MP, Minister for Employment and Small Business and Minister for Training and Skills Development, yesterday launched the third round of the Young Tourism Leaders Program in Brisbane.

Congratulations to Eloise Chaffers from Great Keppel Island Hideaway who has been accepted into this year’s program. Twenty young tourism leaders from an over-subscribed field were selected from around the state.

The Young Tourism Leaders Program provides influential and inspiring role models who are keen to share the insights and experiences of their career journey to encourage more young people to consider a tourism career. They will join our existing Young Tourism Leaders, Zac Garven (Empire Apartment Hotel) and Amanda Hinton (Capricorn Caves), to showcase the endless opportunities and adventures young people can experience working in the industry.

The Queensland tourism industry employs nearly 220 000 people and generates more than $25 billion for the state. Our Young Tourism Leaders play a part in shaping the future success of this important industry.
