Pacific Destinations ITO Agents visit

Thanks to our Capricorn SGBR Young Tourism Leaders Zac (Empire), Eloise (GKI Hideaway) and Amanda (Capricorn Caves), who hosted FIT Specialists from Pacific Destinations over the recent Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend, which was a result of their recent tourism trade sales mission to Sydney.

Kasia Nowicka and Jenny Brzenczek, Pacific Destinations were super impressed with our destination and have promised they will return, as well as push our patch in more self drive itineraries for their clients.

We sincerely appreciate that Kasia and Jenny paid for their own airfares and hire car and spent the long weekend in their own time familiarizing themselves with some of our key trade ready products.  They certainly enjoyed the hospitality, attractions and accommodation during their stay, including Empire Apartment Hotel, the Great Western Hotel, Capricorn Caves, Great Keppel Island Hideaway/Keppel Konnections, Yeppoon Lagoon and Rocky riverfront.

To have agents so willing to pay their own way to a new destination without the regional tourism organisation paying for airfares and hosting is a testament to the huge momentum that our Southern Great Barrier Reef destination brand continues to have in the tourism trade distribution.

It is wonderful to see our experienced operators leading trade missions and famils, which began some years ago in our RTO led tourism trade mentoring programs and sales missions to Sydney and Brisbane.

Whilst our more established SGBR leaders continue to shine, other operators participating in our tourism trade mentoring and partnership sales missions will be just as experienced in no time!

Onwards and upwards for our local industry operators and our destination!
