From Bondi to barrels, Dr Chris Brown visits Yeppoon Lagoon and Surf Lakes Yeppoon

Last week, Capricorn Enterprise in partnership with Surf Lakes Yeppoon hosted Australia’s popular veterinarian, author and television presenter, Dr Chris Brown, who spent time soaking up the rays at Yeppoon Lagoon before hitting the waves at Surf Lakes Yeppoon to carve up the wave pool’s largest break, Occys Peak.

Accompanied by the crew from Channel 10’s lifestyle program, The Living Room, Chris couldn’t wait to get his board wet, and was grateful to receive many tips and assistance from the Australian pro-surf fraternity sharing the facility with him.

Chris was thrilled to experience the much talked about global revolution for himself, and with jeers from many about Chris Hemsworth two weeks prior making Occys Peak look like a walk in the park, the celebrity pressure was on!

After an interview with Surf Lakes founder, Aaron Trevis, Dr Chris had the opportunity to chat with two times World Para Surfing champion and Surf Lakes ambassador, Sam Bloom. Sam shared her inspiring story of how in the blink of an eye, a heartbeat a split second in time, her life changed, leaving her paralysed from the chest down. But with courage, determination and a little help from an unlikely feathered friend, she made her way back from the edge, scarred but undefeated, her story was transformed into a movie starring Australian actress Naomi Watts.

The weather was certainly on our side as the sun bear down across the Capricorn Coast, creating absolutely perfect filming conditions to best showcase our incredible destination.

The Living Room segment, in partnership with Capricorn Enterprise will go to air on Friday, 14th October on Channel 10 and 10 Play.
