A workshop to give Not-For-Profit organisations a better understanding of their legal obligations and offer recommendations for best practice.A range of topics will be covered, including:
- Incorporated associations legislation and the changes
- Committee responsibilities
- Workplace Health and Safety and the changes
- Policies and procedures to be aware of
“Not-for-profit organisations in the Central Highlands play an integral role in providing fundamental services to this region,” CHDC General Manager Sandra Hobbs says.
“This workshop is an opportunity for not-for-profits to engage with a legal professional to address governance requirements issues and implement best practice for the organisation.”

Solicitor, Caxton Legal Centre Brisbane
Ros has worked as a solicitor since 1990 and has been a lawyer at Caxton Legal Centre INC for 20 years. Ros completed Arts / Law at the University of QLD where she majored in English Literature and Drama, and completed the Bar Practice Course in 2005.
Ros has extensive experience and specialises in assisting not-for-profit community based organisations. She volunteers at Suited for Success (a not-for-profit organisation that assists unemployed women to get back into work). As well as working at the Caxton Legal Centre, Ros teaches voice at the Southbank Institute of Technology and is one of the core tutors in NIDA’s Young Actors Program.
