Presented by Mike Harris, President AOQ-QLD
Mike Harris is responsible for the development, management and provision of quality services at Aurizon to support delivering projects to customer requirements. Mike maintains the Quality Management System, the continuous improvement of systems and processes and the development of a quality culture. Aurizon is Australia’s largest rail freight operator and a top 50 ASX company.
Mike is currently the President and a Board member of Australian Organisation for Quality-Qld and is a Fellow of the organisation. Mike is also a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) with PMI.
Previously Mike was the Manager Operational Quality at Airbus Group Australia Pacific and prior to that the Corporate Business Systems and Quality Director for AECOM Australia and New Zealand for over 9 years.
Mike has been involved in quality and business excellence as a professional since 1993. Mike has implemented and maintained management and business systems addressing quality, safety and environmental processes in Engineering, Defence, IT and Manufacturing companies. Mike has worked for reputable companies in Asia Pacific and Australasia that have a global reach (e.g. Boeing Australia, AECOM, Mincom and Airbus ).
Mike specializes in aligning the critical elements of an organisation into a consolidated management and business system by focussing on the change management issues and facilitating improvements in all functions. Mike has project managed numerous internal and client projects giving him a good understanding of project and risk management processes, including integration of systems which include behavioral changes.
