If you are an artist or a member of an art or community group, you should consider applying for a grant from the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF).  Applications for the RADF close on Monday 30 January 2012 and Rockhampton Regional Council is holding information sessions in Rockhampton, Mt Morgan and Capricorn Coast to provide assistance to applicants.

Funding for this round is for arts projects commencing on or after 1 April 2012 and people with innovative and creative arts projects are encouraged to apply.  The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership program between Rockhampton Regional Council and Queensland Government, Arts Queensland.

Rockhampton Regional Council Community Development and Customer Service Committee Chair Councillor Rose Swadling said Council will host individual half-hour sessions for applicants in Rockhampton, Mt Morgan and Capricorn Coast in the week commencing 16 January 2012 in the lead-up to the closing date.

“These sessions are a great opportunity for applicants to meet RADF Committee members and discuss their project and application,” Cr Swadling said.  “As there are limited sessions per location, bookings are essential,” she said.

Financial assistance is offered to individuals and organisations for professional services to fund arts activities and travel costs associated with local artists attending specialised workshops for the purpose of individual professional development.

Funding is also available for the professional components of arts activities such as Professional Development, Short-term Workshops, Contemporary Collections/Stories, an Interest-free Art Loan, Concept Development, Cultural Tourism and Regional Partnerships.

To make a booking or for further information, please contact Council on 4936 8529 or email dl-RADF@rrc.qld.gov.au.  Further information and RADF Application forms are available on Council’s website at www.rockhamptonregion.qld.gov.au/ under the Your Community tab, Grants and Sponsorship, Regional Arts Development Fund.
