If you want to make a difference in your local community and participate in decision-making for the future of the Rockhampton Region, stand for election as Mayor or Councillor for Rockhampton Regional Council in the 2012 local government elections.

Local government elections play an important role in our democratic system, providing an excellent opportunity for people to be involved in their local community and represent their constituents at the Council table.

Working as the Mayor or a Councillor is hard work and this seminar is designed to give intending candidates a taste of what life is really like as a Councillor and how a local government is operated.

If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a Councillor at Rockhampton Regional Council you are invited to attend the Intending Candidate Seminar.

The Seminar will be held on Wednesday 14 December 2011 from 6.30pm – 8.30pm at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre, corner of Derby and East Streets, Rockhampton.

For more information or to express your interest in attending contact Rockhampton Regional Council on 1300 22 55 77 or email enquiries@rrc.qld.gov.au
