ABOUT SHAREE BAULD

Sharee is a tourism industry professional with 25+ years’ experience in the field, both in Australia and overseas. She is currently a Creative Business Champion with the Regional Arts Services Network. She has spent most of her career in developing countries working with international development agencies in almost every aspect of tourism – transportation, education, arts, culture and heritage, environment, agriculture, hospitality, IT and the travel trade – from the grassroots to the Ministerial and multilateral levels, with both the public and private sectors.

In the arts culture space, she has worked to support the revival and reinvigoration of traditional crafts and art forms in a number of post-war countries, in an effort to overcome the subsequent loss of ancient arts, traditions and cultural heritage. She has worked with business and organisations to design and apply the principles of Fair Trade, worked with artisans and arts and cultural organisations to improve their market access, and provided support for those working in the sector to sustain themselves.

She has also worked with First Nations people in Cape York Peninsula, at the non-government and local government level, initially managing a Commonwealth-funded tourism project and then providing support and advice for Traditional Owners to achieve aspirations on-country for economic and tourism development.

Sharee is driven by connecting people, communities, industries, and sectors as a means to achieving impact and sustainability for all. In her spare time, she doesn’t enjoy working on her longsuffering PhD in tourism and can be found running around a hockey field in the town of Moranbah.
