In accordance with our priority project, Health Precinct – promoting the Rockhampton/Capricorn Coast region as a major health hub, Capricorn Enterprise is collaborating with major health services providers to the region.
The Health Alliance was formed with hospital and health services groups and training providers to progress the delivery of regional healthcare objectives including new infrastructure.
Following the recent launch of our Professional Recruitment videos in partnership with CQUniversity, Central Queensland Hospital and Health service, Mercy Health and Aged Care Central Queensland, Hillcrest Private Hospital (Ramsey Health) and University of Queensland Rural Clinical School Rockhampton, this week saw some major announcements in the regional health sector.
On Monday, 27 July, the Federal Health Minister Sussan Ley officially opened the new $3 million family accommodation units for country patients at Mater Hospital and the $6.4 million stage 2 medical health clinic at CQUniversity.
The opening of the new short-stay accommodation at the Mater Hospital will provide beds for patients and families from rural areas while they are receiving medical treatment saving them time and money.
The development of the university’s practical learning clinic offers oral health therapy, podiatry and speech pathology with the state-of-the-art training facility enabling allied health professionals to be trained locally and provide services to patients who may otherwise not be able to afford them.
