2015 Festive Season is Here!

This weekend is MASSIVE!
Our community has plenty to celebrate with the news that the Yeppoon Foreshore has just been awarded an additional $10 Million and the Rockhampton Riverfront redevelopment another $7 Million from the Federal government – what a great Christmas present!
This Sunday 13th December, the Yeppoon beachfront will celebrate from 12 noon with market stalls and rides and the official opening of the “Keppel Kraken” waterplay area! Then at 4.30pm, the ‘Lex Semple Memorial Santa Run Street Parade’ will be followed by Choirs and Dancing, the Nativity story and of course Carols by the Beach, proudly brought to you by Cap Coast Community Events and sponsored by Salt Yeppoon.
Rockhampton will hold its annual Carols by Candelight at the Music Bowl on Saturday 12th December with a gold coin donation entry fee for local charities. Callaghan Park also hosts its Christmas Cup Race Day on Saturday 12 December for a $5 admission fee.
On Sunday 13th December, a second show of Carols by Candlelight will be held at the Pilbeam Theatre from $10 to $45.
The Rockhampton Art Gallery is showcasing from Saturday 12 December to Sunday 114 February, a ‘Fantastic Worlds – Contemporary Australian Sculpture’ Exhibition.
The Mill Gallery in Yeppoon is showcasing a Christmas Exhibition until Sunday 31st January. The exhibition features work with the theme ‘Sand between my toes.”
Capricorn Caves showcases their Summer Solstice Light Spectacle from now until Saturday 16th January. This dazzling light display is a natural phenomenon unique in the southern hemisphere and must not be missed. Admission is $15 to $30 and this could be the best Christmas present you give to your loved ones – it is truly a unique and amazing natural wonder here in our own backyard!
On Saturday 19the December, the Great Western Hotel will host Christmas Bulls and Barrels. This is a family fun day with free entry and lucky door prizes of boys and girls BMX Bikes! Don’t miss seeing Santa ride a bull at the Great Western Hotel!
Don’t feel like cooking on Christmas Day? Zilzie Palms Christmas Day Banquet ($28 – $105), Great Keppel Island Hideaway Christmas lunch ($20 – $120), Capricorn Resort Yeppoon Christmas Day lunch ($40 – $135) and the Leichhardt Hotel Rockhampton Christmas Day Buffet ($35 – $85).
New Year’s Eve celebrations on Thursday 31st December are plentiful with Capricorn Resort Yeppoon offering a range of fantastic options to help you end 2015 and welcome in 2016 in celebratory style!
Footlights Theatre Restaurant is also offering a fun New Year’s Eve dinner and show ($40 – $70). The Great Western Hotel in Rockhampton is hosting their annual New Year’s Eve Bull Ride and Mick Lindsay ($15 – $25).
