Leader of the Opposition Meets with Local Industry Representatives
Posted on March 2nd, 2016
Leader of the Opposition the Hon Lawrence Springborg MP met with industry representatives from the Health, Agriculture, Tourism, Construction, Education and Business/Finance sectors this week at a Capricorn Enterprise Chairman’s Boardroom lunch in Rockhampton. These industries and our regional Priority Projects were discussed over two hours with Mr. Springborg departing with an in-depth appreciation of local issues.
Of course a well publicised local issue during his visit, was the importance of the Great Keppel Island Resort development to the regional economy.
On Monday night at the Our Keppel Our Future (OKOF) meeting kindly hosted by Coaltrain, having Terry Agnew from Tower Holdings re-affirm his commitment to constructing a resort and Lawrence Springborg MP re-affirming the LNP’s policy to support the legislative framework to allow off-shore boutique gaming was certainly welcomed by the meeting. Capricorn Enterprise has always supported any mechanism to expedite development of a resort, but in the meantime we will continue to work hard in promoting the island accommodation, dining and tour options currently on offer for visitors.
