DesintationQ 2016
Posted on October 28th, 2016
DestinationQ held in Mackay this week was themed ‘Growing Queensland Jobs’. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and seven (7) of her Cabinet Ministers addressed an audience of over 300 industry delegates on a range of issues.
The 5th annual tourism forum hosted by State government, in partnership with the Department of Tourism, Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) and industry, again re-iterated that ‘tourism is everyone’s business’, with many State government departments and Ministerial portfolios working together to help solve the ongoing issues which arise in Transport/Access, Infrastructure, Environment, Skills & Training, Digital, Disability, Events, Education etc.
A major ‘take-out’ from the forum was the absolute need for Partnerships between government and industry – as QTIC’s Chairman, Shane O’Reilly said, it’s not just up to government, it’s up to industry to utilise the opportunities presented to us.
