Keppel Bay Marina
Keppel Bay Marina in Roslyn Bay is north of Rockhampton and is the launching pad for plenty of leisure experiences on the Capricorn Coast. The good news for recreational anglers is that this is a net-free fishing zone so the bounty should be up in their favour.
If you’re planning a trip to the Keppel Islands Salt beachfront apartments are a great place to stay. Take in the mesmerising views out across shimmering Rosslyn Bay, to Great Keppel Island and over to the CBD.

Fitzroy River Rockhampton
The Rocky Barra Bounty is a popular fishing competition in Rockhampton that is held annually. It’s a tag and release event and it can accommodate about 70 teams, and 130 competitors.
The competition takes place in the newly created commercial net free fishing zone which covers the Fitzroy River, Keppel Bay and the waters north of Yeppoon.
A great place for competitors to stay is Quest Rockhampton Apartments. They offer self-contained studio accommodation, as well as one and two bedroom apartments. Quest is right in the CBD and best of all, it serves up fantastic views of the Fitzroy River.
