Rockhampton Jaguar Land Rover (Ian Weigh Group) Sponsorship Appreciated

I do a lot of driving in this job and host many VIPS (travel writers, travel trade, investors, politicians etc) to our destination, and first impressions count!
The Capricorn region stretches from the Central Highlands in the west (Emerald, Carnarvon Gorge, Sapphire Gemfields) to the Keppel Islands/Capricorn Coast in the east, from Stanage Bay in the north and Mount Morgan in the south.
I also drive to our Southern Great Barrier Reef regional tourism partners in the south; Gladstone and Bundaberg regions, as well as to the Mackay region in the north, so it’s important to have a reliable, safe and comfortable vehicle.
That’s why, for the past decade, the Ian Weigh Group has provided a loan car each year to Capricorn Enterprise, and our predecessor organisation, Capricorn Tourism, for which we are extremely grateful.
Ian Weigh, his son Simon Weigh and his team, continue to provide this considerable financial support to Capricorn Enterprise year after year, because they understand and appreciate the important work our Organisation conducts on behalf of our entire region in Visitor Servicing, Destination Marketing, Business Support and Investment Attraction.
And this sponsorship partnership has another very important benefit to not just our Organisation, but our entire destination.
Thanks to the provision of a vehicle each year, tens of thousands of additional dollars can be spent in marketing our destination instead of paying for a necessary operational overhead.
I’ve had the pleasure of driving a number of Toyota brands over the past seven years, including the Altise, Aurion and Kluger from Ian Weigh Toyota, which has dealerships in Rockhampton and Yeppoon.
My husband and I even own a Toyota Camry (aka the ‘mutt mobile’) which has been a very faithful part of the family for the past eleven years!
Since expanding to create their incredible new facility, Rockhampton Jaguar Land Rover, General Manager Simon Weigh was keen to have me drive the new Land Rover Discovery Sport.
So last week, he handed me the keys and wow, what a beautiful car – spacious, comfortable, modern features and more affordable than you might think!
On a personal note, I have to express not just my gratitude, but the gratitude of many other not-for-profit groups in our community which are also assisted each year by the Ian Weigh Group.
Those groups and events include Alzheimers Australia, Caves Country Show, Coastguard Tightlines Fishing Classic, CQ Convoy, Emu Park Beach Day Out, Local Schools and Kindergartens, Lions Club, Marlborough Show, National Tree Day, Rockhampton Pro-Am, The Girls Grammar Bulls and Barrels, Yeppoon Bridge Club, Yeppoon Seagulls, Yeppoon Show Society, Yeppoon Surf Life Saving Club, Yeppoon Swans.
This family business works very hard, invests a lot into our community and employs many local residents. Their customer service is absolutely exceptional and for all of this, I truly say THANK YOU!
