Sydney Caravan & Camping Super Show
Last week, our destination (from the Central Highlands to the Keppel Islands) was promoted for six days from Tuesday 25th to Sunday 30th April at the Annual Sydney Caravan and Camping Show, held at the Rosehill Race Course. With over 300 exhibitors and 60,487 visitors, we look forward to a bumper winter season this year!
Brisbane Tourism Trade Sales Mission
And while our representatives were selling to our southern consumers in NSW, back in Brisbane, six of our operators, accompanied by Capricorn Enterprise Tourism Manager Deanne Bowd, held presentations to major tourism trade partners including Sunlover Holidays (AOT Group), Queensland Tourism and Events famils team, Expedia/Wotif, Flight Centre Travel Group, Virgin Australia Holidays.
Participating in this year’s Tourism Trade Mentoring Program, who attended last week’s sales mission in Brisbane are Yeppoon Accommodation (Salt, Echelon and Beaches on Lammermoor), Freedom Fast Cats, Capricorn Caves, Rosslyn Bay Resort and Great Keppel Island Hideaway.
This one-on-one mentoring for our tourism operators is key to economic development in our destination and we are proud of the continued partnership between Capricorn Enterprise and our industry.
We must continue to ‘hunt in a pack’ which continues to strengthen our destination awareness and maturity of our product offerings, as well as ensure our limited resources, both human and cash, are effective by working together and combining our efforts!
Our partnership with Gladstone and Bundaberg regions under the greater Southern Great Barrier Reef destination brand further strengthens our appeal to major tourism trade partners, so our tourism operators from the Capricorn Coast welcomed the opportunity to work with fellow operators from our partner regions.
400 km radius TV Campaign
From Sunday 14th May for a two-week period, as part of our recovery efforts post ex-TC Debbie, our TV advertisements promoting Yeppoon will be aired on Imparja and Win TV, reaching an audience of 550,000 people. This will be complemented by additional social media promotion which follows our two previous digital campaigns promoting the entire region across the Tropic of Capricorn.
Until next time….
