TEQ Conversations with Industry – A great success
Posted on June 6th, 2018
Thanks to our fifty (50) local tourism business Members who joined Capricorn Enterprise in welcoming our Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) colleagues to Yeppoon this week.
This annual “TEQ Conversations with Industry” is a fantastic opportunity for our local industry to hear what our State Tourism Organisation (STO) has planned and how we can leverage our destination and operator efforts for the coming year, to ensure our limited resources are utilized to the best possible advantage.
Rick Hamilton, TEQ Group Executive Destinations and Global Partnerships provided a fantastic overview including marketing plans, research and operations, followed by David Morgans, TEQ Director Destination and Experience Development about the “Best of Queensland” program.
A panel – Shelley Winkle, Global Publicity Manager Experience Engagement and Digital Channels, Erin Beattie, Leader Destination Events, and Bruce Wallace, Director Consumer Marketing – then fielded a variety of questions from our operators.
Brett Stratford, Director Industry Engagement and Innovation and Tourism from the Department of Tourism, Innovation, Tourism and Industry Development (DITID) also joined the TEQ team.
Whilst in region, Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll hosted the TEQ team along with Racheal Klitscher Director Great Barrier Reef and Azra Hadzic, Destination Specialist, Great Barrier Reef (Destinations & Global Partnerships) to explore as much of our exciting new tourism product.
It’s impossible to show VIPs everything in 24 hours, but we do our best!
