COVID-19 – Restarting, Transitioning and Resilience
COVID-19 has significantly disrupted many of the assumptions and tools that business leaders rely on for decision-making, and therefore a solid framework for action and moving forward is essential.
Four key business activities have been identified to help Queensland tourism businesses to prepare for reopening and to be competitive in a primarily domestic market for 2020/21.
The Queensland Government allocated $3,000,000 to fund and deliver this Tourism Industry Business Capability Development program for the tourism industry over three years to June 2021.
Stage 1 – Whole of State Webinars
Webinars will take place once a week from July 2020 to mid August 2020 and will be available to all operators across the state.

Stage 2 – Coaching
Delivery of the virtual or online coaching is tailored to individual businesses to provide ongoing support and resources and build on information shared in the webinars.
Flexibility enables coaches to provide support in areas that are of greatest need to the operators.
Coaching is available for the four categories outlined below and topics contained in the webinars delivered above:
- COVID Reopening Preparation
- Pivoting a Product and Innovation
- Domestic Trade and Distribution
- Domestic Marketing
Four sessions of 60 minute one-one-one online coaching sessions will be available to eligible tourism and hospitality businesses that have participated in or viewed, one or more of the four webinars outlined above.
To register for one-on-one coaching you will be asked to:
- Select the number of coaching sessions your business would like to receive (minimum of 1 session and a maximum of 4 sessions).
- Select the category and topic(s) for your coaching sessions from the lists above.
- Select the supplier to deliver your online on-on-one coaching sessions from the list below.
