Nature nomad Laura set to discover our gorge-ous Carnarvon
Posted on September 29th, 2020
Between 28th September and 6th October, freelance travel writer, speaker, author, long distance hiker and nature nomad, Laura Waters will be taking a journey through Roma from her south-east Queensland home town before arriving at our beautifully diverse Carnarvon Gorge.
Based at Takarakka Bush Resort, Laura will spend six days immersing herself in the vastness of the iconic Queensland landscape. Marvelling in the vastness of the Amphitheatre, the cool quiet of Mickey Creek Gorge, and the prehistoric life in Ward’s Canyon, Laura will be joined by specialist guide, Simon from Australian Nature Guides on a guided 14 kilometre (8-9 hour) tour of the Lower Gorge.
Whether hunting for wildlife and unusual plants or discovering the ceremonial meaning behind the Gorge’s 4000 year old rock art, we look forward to hearing about Laura’s exciting adventures in our backyard.
