A double WIN for the Waterline Restaurant
Posted on November 10th, 2020
If dining is the primary form of entertainment, then The Waterline Restaurant at Keppel Bay Marina, Rosslyn Bay has twice been recognised as a true stage of excellence…taking out not one, but two Awards for Excellence on Monday night in Brisbane.
Excelling in the categories of Tourism Restaurant and Healthy Kids Menu, and finalists for Breakfast and Contemporary Australian, The Waterline Restaurant team joined over 200 of their Queensland and Northern Territory peers to celebrate during what has been a challenging year for many hospitality operators.
With a commitment to forge a reputation for the best quality food and friendliest service on the coast, General Manager, Kylie Smith was overjoyed to add another prestigious award to their impressive collection.
“Our crew are passionate about promoting local pride, sustainable tourism and offering a variety of fresh flavours by handcrafting all our products purely from nature,” Kylie said. “Since 1996, we have worked to source the best local produce available wherever possible from local farmers and producers to offer a true sense of taste and place for visitors and locals alike.”
“Being recognised as the top Tourism Restaurant in the State cements our desire to connect visitors to our incredible destination and tell stories of our region through great cuisine topped with a great experience.”
Executive Chef Matt Smith is proud of his team, who have showed immense resilience throughout an unparalleled and uncertain year.
“Despite the challenges of 2020, being surrounded day in and day out by a group of people who encourage, inspire and accomplish has kept the restaurant moving in a positive direction,” Matt said. “We have continued to evolve and adapt to our conditions and ensure that we have remained consistent in our delivery of exceptional food and outstanding service.”
The Healthy Kids Menu excellence award relates to removing the challenge of finding healthy, affordable, and tasty food when dining out with kids. The Waterline Restaurant’s suite of nourishing menu items for under 12’s made them a clear winner.
“Restaurants often underestimate their role in the development of healthy eating habits for children,” Kylie said. “Inspiring a selection of nutritional meals which provide opportunities to expand young tastebuds is important, and I am proud to play our part in offering healthier options for our littlest residents.”
Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll extended her congratulations to The Waterline team for continuing to fly the flag for our destination.
“The multi-award-winning Waterline Restaurant has fast become a ‘must-do’ on the itineraries of many visitors to the Capricorn Coast,” Mary said. “We are so fortunate to have a diverse range of top-class dining experiences right across the region and it is exciting to see this vibrant industry acknowledged in such a positive way by the Restaurant and Catering Association.”
The Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards, which are held in each state, recognise operators in both metropolitan and regional centres. For the full list of winners, visit www.rca.asn.au.
