11-year tenure celebrated by Capricorn Enterprise CEO
Posted on December 2nd, 2020
Not only did Capricorn Enterprise’s Mary Carroll celebrate an 11-year tenure as CEO of the region’s robust and dynamic tourism and economic development organization this week, but she will also become Queensland’s longest standing Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) leader to achieve such a milestone.
Demonstrating more than a decade of continuous industry improvements and development together with positive financial growth, Mary has led strategies for the marketing of the region to domestic and international consumers, trade, media and business, along with supporting and developing industry projects, attracting large scale investment and driving the region’s economy forward.
Taking the baton from Martin Winter, who held a time-honoured role with Gold Coast Tourism for more than a decade and the late Richard Power who successfully steered Townsville Enterprise for 10 years, Mary speaks proudly of how the industry has become her friend.
“People are and always will be our greatest asset in this business,” Mary said. “It’s the relationships formed and my sincere appreciation for the destination that I live that keeps me in the CEO chair.”
“I remain extremely motivated by the results driven environment of tourism and economic development and so proud of the many accomplishments and key priority projects fulfilled by Capricorn Enterprise.”
With a passion for leading change, Mary credits her achievements to hard work and clear vision, a strong team, an inspiring strategic plan, and the enthusiasm of the business community.
“What I have learned over the years is that you can achieve so much more when you combine the talents, attributes and skills of people who share the same purpose and vision,” Mary said.
