Evie and Emmie, aka Mum Pack Travel, recently spent nine days soaking up the sun, sand and sea while exploring the beautiful Capricorn Coast and Great Keppel Island.
On a first-time adventure of the region, the mother and daughter duo began their stay at Oshen Apartments, waking to the stunning views overlooking Keppel Bay.
After spending time checking out Yeppoon Lagoon, local street art, and taking in the spectacular views from Wreck Point, Fan Rock and Turtle Lookout, they enjoyed dinner at Keppel Bay Sailing Club.
Next it was off to Great Keppel Island with Freedom Fast Cats, basing themselves at Great Keppel Island Holiday Village.
Settling easily into island life, Evie and Emmie spent time exploring the reef and marine life from above water onboard the glass bottom boat before taking a hike to Monkey Beach where they donned their mask, snorkel and fins and discovered the underwater beauty of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
Claiming it was like swimming in an aquarium, Evie was blown away by her experience and was fortunate to get up close and personal with colourful fish, corals, turtles and stingrays.
Headed back to the mainland, the travelling team stayed at NRMA Capricorn Yeppoon Holiday Park, taking a day trip to Emu Park and stopping to smile at a croc at Koorana Crocodile Farm.
They completed their visit with some fireplace R&R at Ferns Hideaway Resort in Byfield before discovering local attractions including Nob Creek Pottery, Stony Creek and Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary.
After falling in love with the Capricorn Coast, Evie and Emmie are now off to explore Rockhampton with a visit to the iconic Capricorn Caves, hopefully bagging a Barra on the Fitzroy, meeting the Meerkats, celebrating culture at the Dreamtime Cultural Centre and taking in the views of Rocky from Mount Archer.
