Southern Great Barrier Reef Destination wins 10 GOLD out of 32 Queensland Tourism Awards
Posted on November 15th, 2021
The Capricorn Enterprise marketing team joined more than 1100 guests last Friday evening at the Brisbane Entertainment and Convention Centre to celebrate the 2021 Queensland Tourism Awards.
The Awards, hosted by Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC), were a fabulous acknowledgement of the strength and resilience of all Queensland tourism operators.
Capricorn Enterprise members, Empire Apartment Hotel, Beef 2021 and Fun Over Fifty took out the top gong across five categories, with plenty of other winners stepping onto the podium to accept awards. Empire Apartment Hotel also entered the exclusive Hall of Fame for a consecutive 3-year win in the accommodation category.
While our Capricorn Coast Information Centre Volunteers missed out on their Award category, they remain winners in our eyes, with Supervisor Leanne and long-standing volunteer, Bev (Gillo) flying the flag for our 35 wonderful volunteers.
Channel 7’s Chris Parsons and Kimberley Busteed brought fun and humour to the night of nights, with Kimberley claiming the Southern Great Barrier Reef as her favourite Queensland destination, while our local boys, Busby Marou gave a shout out to their Capricorn colleagues during their performance.
The Capricorn Enterprise team networked throughout the event, spending time with Minister for Tourism, The Honourable Stirling Hinchliffe, Assistant Minister for Tourism, Michael Healy and Federal Member for Capricornia, Michelle Landry.
We would like to extend a hefty congratulations to all winners of this year’s Queensland Tourism Awards.
