Rockhampton Zoo welcomes baby chimpanzee!

The Rockhampton community is celebrating with a cute little bundle welcomed at Rockhampton Zoo over the weekend.
Mum Leakey and dad Alon welcomed their new arrival on 8th December, and Leakey has been so relaxed as a second time mother, that zoo staff have removed the privacy panelling of the chimp enclosure, allowing the public to catch a glimpse of the Zoo’s newest member.
The new arrival has boosted Rockhampton Zoo’s chimpanzee numbers to eight and the three latest additions over the past three years continue to provide a beautiful experience for visitors and locals alike.
