Key changes in Regional Funding Programs
Posted on October 27th, 2022
The Federal budget has scrapped the $250 million in Round 6 of the Building Better Regions Fund. The program supplied grants of $20,000 to $10 million to cover 50 per cent or more of eligible project costs. A total of $1.38 billion had been allocated to past projects and out to 2024–25 with applications submitted in the most recent round earlier this year, abandoned.
In its place, two new programs are being created, the Growing Regions Program and the Precincts and Partnerships Program, which have $1 billion worth of available funding between them across the next three (3) years.
Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, The Hon Catherine King MP has announced her commitment to regional funding programs.
