With a total of 83 nominations received across 8 judged categories, along with 53 additional businesses nominated for the People’s Choice Award, the competition is fierce and this Saturday 26th November is going to be a night to remember. Hosted by entertainer, reporter and proud Rockhampton local Brad Villiers, the gala event is set to welcome 240 guests at the Kortes Resort Conference Centre.
This year’s theme is ‘Showcase Local’ and Capricorn Enterprise together with the Capricornia Chamber of Commerce are proud to announce that this is a 100% locally supplied event!
There will be 10 Award presentations in total including:
- Best New Business
- Best Large Business
- Best Medium Business
- Best Small Business
- Best Community Enterprise
- Best Accessible Business
- Best Employee as nominated by an Employer
- Best Apprentice or Trainee as nominated by an Employer
- People’s Choice
- Best Overall Business
All competitive Award categories (8) were independently judged by a carefully selected panel. The judging panel is listed below…

- Tony Gambling, Director of Regional Development – Regional Development Australia
- Kim Harrington, Associate Vice President Rockhampton and Central Highlands – CQUniversity
- Adrienne Rourke, Central Queensland Regional Manager – AusIndustry Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources
- Peter Peterson, Entrepreneurship Facilitator – Australian Business Consultancy and Solutions
Tourism operators receiving 100 points in the Best of Queensland program will also be acknowledged and awarded during the evening.
Following formalities, Side Hustle will take to the stage.
