Ahoy there Capricorn Coast kids…
It’s time to jump aboard the ‘Pumpkin Xpress’ and be transported to a magical private island just 14km from Keppel Bay Marina in the Southern Great Barrier Reef. All you need to bring is your imagination!
Delivering another perfect example of strong community connectedness and collaboration, The Waterline Restaurant at Keppel Bay Marina is pleased to officially announce the opening of their new playground, which has been generously sponsored by the Rumble family of Pumpkin Island, to bring big smiles to little faces.
Inspired by Pumpkin Island’s personal water transfer service, the playground shares the island treasure’s past and present history, from its days as an oyster farm in 1961 to a now sustainable eco-tourism paradise and the first beyond carbon neutral island in Australia.
As long-standing business partners, Keppel Bay Marina and Pumpkin Island have worked closely together across many years to enhance the guest experience for visitors to the destination.
Aside from the Marina providing the gateway for departing guests to access the Keppel Bay Islands, The Waterline Restaurant also caters for guests on Pumpkin Island via way of pre-packaged meal kits, creating easy and stress-free options for those staying at the self-catering resort.
Kylie Smith from Keppel Bay Marina is excited by the addition of the playground, which further compliments the Marina.
“The Waterline Restaurant has always been a family friendly place to relax and dine, catering to youngsters for years with our award-winning Healthy Kid’s Menu,” Kylie said.
“The playground is already proving very popular for both kids and parents, and we are so excited to be seeing little faces playing happily while parents enjoy their dining experience.”
“We are incredibly delighted with our recent collaboration with the Rumbles to bring this playground to fruition, and we know that the children of the Capricorn Coast and those visiting will enjoy the fun on offer,” Kylie said.
Laureth Rumble from Pumpkin Island said, “The Waterline Restaurant and Keppel Bay Marina is a place for all generations to enjoy and the perfect place for family and friends to gather.”
“We are pleased to contribute to the local community through the provision of this playground and be able to witness the joy and happiness that it will give to children of all ages.”
Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll congratulated both Keppel Bay Marina and Pumpkin Island for providing more opportunities for families to enjoy while visiting the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
“This collaboration between two significant operators within our destination is incredible, and we are proud to see businesses working together for the betterment of the local community,” Mary said.
The playground will officially open on Wednesday 12th July from 10:00am. Media are invited to join the celebrations which will take place on the lawns in front of the playground.
