Capricorn Caves is gearing up for an action-packed school holiday season with a series of exciting events that promise fun and adventure for visitors of all ages.
Mini Adventurer Day – December 13th and 20th 2023, January 16th 2024
Young explorers aged 6 to 13 are invited to participate in the Mini Adventurer Day, an immersive experience designed to ignite the adventurous spirit in children.
With two distinct programs catering to different age groups, the day will be filled with age-appropriate challenges and thrilling outdoor activities, including adventure caving and conquering the climbing wall.
Under the Stars Astronomy Nights – December 14th 21st 22nd 27th and 28th 2023, January 17th 2024
Take a journey through the night skies with adventurer and astronomer Dr John McGrath. This engaging presentation is kid and big kid friendly alike, just bring your curious mind!
John will show you gatherings of stars, sister galaxies, how to find the centre of our own galaxy, the meaning of your Zodiac sign, even a planet or two.
Be surprised how important reading the stars was for the daily life of Traditional Owners. Learn useful skills like navigating with the stars and recognising the increasing number of man-made objects in space.
Summer Solstice Spectacle – December 16th 2023 to January 7th 2024

As part of the 11am daily tour of the Cathedral Cave, your expert guide will enlighten you with stories of solstice celebrations from around the world. They will also teach you the science behind what you are seeing, put on a dazzling show with the light beam and allow a photo opportunity not to be missed!
The main event, Summer Solstice Day, is held on December 22nd and spaces are limited so ensure you book ahead.

For ages 7 and up, take an exciting journey into the unknown as you and your children explore the caves by the light of your headlamp.
