Drive Tourism in 2024 – all Roads Lead to Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast!
Posted on January 17th, 2024
“Drive Queensland” and “Caravanning Queensland” are about to ‘hit the road’, promoting their partner destinations and products to at least ten (10) Consumer Shows in South Australia, Victoria, NSW and Queensland in the 2024 caravanning and 4WD show circuit to our key drive markets.
Capricorn Enterprise commits significant funds to advertising and promoting our drive routes in these specific guides, as well as ensuring our official destination guide is distributed at these shows.
We are very proud of our long-standing partnership with Caravanning Queensland and more recently the ever evolving “Drive Queensland” business model, thanks to a partnership with the Queensland Regional Tourism Network and Tourism and Events Queensland.
There are seventeen (17) commercial caravan parks on the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region including Mount Morgan, Gracemere and Capricorn Caves, as well as Byfield commercial properties, offering a total of 1,227 caravan/camping sites and 330 cabins/villas/rooms.
Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll said, “we promote a significant number of commercial caravan parks on the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton, which can accommodate about three and a half thousand visitors at absolute full capacity, so the importance of this sector cannot be underestimated.”
“With four major state strategic touring routes traversing through or ending in our destination (Capricorn Way, Leichardt Way, Pacific Coast Way, Country Way), we boast fantastic direct access from southern capitals and regional areas,” Mary said.
Capricorn Enterprise Tourism/Marketing Manager Krista Brown said, “local operators across the destination continue to improve their products, offering quality stays for holiday makers of all ages, needs and budgets.”
“In 2023, four of our local holiday parks – Discovery Parks Coolwaters Yeppoon, NRMA Capricorn Yeppoon Holiday Park, Discovery Parks Rockhampton and Fisherman’s Beach Holiday Park – earned Best of Queensland status, receiving 100/100 for their visitor experience,” Krista said.
“Tourism and Events Queensland’s Best of Queensland Experiences Program identifies those experiences that best bring the Queensland story to life and is based on a robust and independent set of criteria that are determined by online customer sentiment and expectations.”
