Grow Cultural Tourism Fund
Posted on January 30th, 2024
Arts Queensland’s new Grow Cultural Tourism Fund focusses on building and strengthening a pipeline of economy-boosting arts and cultural events and programming across Queensland ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The fund closes on 29th February 2024.
Applications for the Grow Cultural Tourism Fund are open, and focus on supporting events outside South East Queensland in the first round, with funding available across three streams:
- up to $30,000 in matched funding to support feasibility studies for new and emerging cultural tourism focused festivals and events;
- up to $50,000 in matched funding to expand prominent non-arts events or festivals to feature significant Queensland arts and cultural programming and grow the event; and
- up to $80,000 in matched funding to boost the scale and impact of established arts and cultural events or festivals, supporting the employment of creative expertise to produce, present and promote new arts programming.
Recognising that cultural tourism, including arts events and infrastructure, adds significant value to a region’s identity, liveability and economy, the Grow Cultural Tourism Fund also supports the delivery of Towards Tourism 2023.
Other tourism funds include: the Building Bush Tourism Fund, Growing Future Tourism Fund and Accessible Tourism Elevate Fund.
