Drive QLD wins Best Stand at Victorian Caravan & Touring Supershow!

Capricorn Enterprise is a proud partner of Drive QLD and Caravanning Queensland, with our destination represented at 10 caravan & camping shows this year! Following the successful Adelaide show from 14-18th Feb, our wonderful volunteer Ilona Higgins assisted at the recent Victorian Caravan & Touring Supershow from 21-25th February. The Show welcomed 44,770 visitors through its gates and 200 of our destination brochures were distributed to individual enquiries.
Ilona reported fantastic collaboration with Drive QLD at this event, with many visitors attracted to the stand due to more staff and volunteers to capture interest and discussion. A brand NEW branded Caravan displaying Queensland destination brochures along the open doorways was a great drawcard with additional regional brochures displayed on the shelf in front of the large video screen, playing a 5 minute video loop of Queensland. While the traditional ‘grey nomad’ market was the prominent visitor researching their Queensland drive holiday, a number of families and young people were looking to travel and work around Australia. Many visitors to the Drive Qld stand were planning to travel inland from Victoria to Cape York, crossing highways to specific attractions, with the Capricorn Way and the Savannah way very popular, including our “Dig The Tropic” Dinosaur and Geo trail from Winton in the west all the way across the Tropic of Capricorn to the east.
Enquiries for EV charging and gas fueled vehicle stations are on the rise, with most visitors travelling the traditional season from April to October, and planning underway for 2025 and beyond. Train travel for seniors from Rockhampton to Longreach remains a popular query and a number of queries from people planning to visit family in Central Queensland was extremely encouraging. Drive Qld Managing Director Fiona Nicholl also reported that Yeppoon is definitely a highlight this year at the shows so far.
With 17 commercial caravan parks on the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton, this market is an extremely important one for our destination.
