Livingstone Shire Council is excited to invite the community to the Resilient Rural Living Event.  This special event is dedicated to empowering our rural communities through education and practical advice from industry experts on sustainable and resilient living. Whether you’re a small landholder or involved in larger agricultural ventures, we hope this day provides some invaluable insights and connections for those that live and work on the land.

Register with us for extra hands-on workshops designed to equip you with actionable strategies and knowledge on our future sustainability:

  • Growcom (Qld Fruit & Vegetable Growers) will deliver subjects relating to Farm Business Resilience focusing on drought preparedness, financial assistance, and resilience planning.
  • RCS Australia will deliver subjects relating to Farm management for all seasons, ensuring year-round agricultural productivity.

Outdoor Education:

  • Birdlife Capricornia presentation, enhancing our understanding of local ecosystems.
  • The Soil Food Web by High Valley Dawn, detailing how soil structure supports ecosystem resilience.
  • Biodynamics explained by Woodvale Park Biodynamics, offering insights into this holistic agricultural practice.

As our children are our future sustainable landholders, they haven’t been forgotten, with a Small Animal Farm set up for children to get up close and personal, as well as Resilient Ricky and free amusement rides.   There are also two different workshops to register for:

  • Outdoor Skills 4kids workshops
  • Introduction to Leatherwork Workshop (this is an opportunity for big kids as well)

Thanks to our generous partners, attendees will have the chance to win exciting prizes, including:

  • $500 course credit from RCS Australia.
  • A 2-hour consultation with Roebuck Farm, valued at $500.
  • Stihl Chainsaw, Esky cooler, Cordless Pruner, and toy chainsaw from Yeppoon Small Motors, together worth $700
  • An emergency kit from Livingstone Shire Council Disaster Management, valued at $250.
