Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre welcomes a new colourful contribution
Posted on May 14th, 2024
Brightening up what was once a blank wall at the Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre, Capricorn Enterprise extends its gratitude to Yeppoon local, Linda Stewart, who has donated a captivating painting showcasing sailing boats sitting on popular Kemp Beach.
This remarkable and selfless gesture adds another layer of charm to the Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre, enriching the experience for all who visit.
Linda, along with her partner Paddy, became integral members of the Capricorn Coast community upon their arrival in 2021. While Paddy found fulfillment in volunteering at the Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre, dedicating 2-3 days per week assisting visitors, Linda discovered her passion for painting as a therapeutic outlet in 2022.
Her artwork beautifully captures the essence of the Capricorn Coast, reflecting the destination’s stunning beaches, pristine landscapes, and vibrant personalities.
Paddy, known for his jovial nature and diverse interests ranging from golf to socialising at the Capricorn Coast Yacht Club with his friends, wholeheartedly embraces the coastal lifestyle. For him and Linda, the allure of living on the Capricorn Coast lies in its simplicity: the warmth of its people, the splendour of its beaches, the richness of its cuisine and the endless opportunities for adventure.
Joining Paddy at the heart of the Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre are its dedicated volunteers, who collectively welcome and assist between 17,000 to 18,000 visitors annually. Responding to approximately 1700 phone inquiries each year, these volunteers selflessly contribute approximately 6000 hours of their time to ensure every visitor’s experience is memorable.
Linda’s painting, now a cherished addition to the Capricorn Coast Visitor Information Centre, serves as a testament to the community spirit and the profound connection shared among residents and visitors alike.
Capricorn Enterprise extends our thank you to Linda for her lovely donation, and invites the Capricorn Coast community to pop into the Visitor Information Centre at Ross Creek Roundabout to discover the essence of our wonderful coastal destination, now prominently on display.
