Capricorn Enterprise Networking event at Fitzroy Community Hospice

Although still getting ready for the official opening, last night Fitzroy Community Hospice sponsored by Stanwell Corporation proudly hosted a Members’ Networking night on Tuesday 30th April, welcoming over 30 guests to view the new facility.
Hospice CEO, Beth Thomas, and Board members have overseen the development of the largest Hospice in Queensland which will have 12 beds on completion. They have stretched every generously donated dollar and grant to open the facility this June with 9-11 beds. The hospice has been built with great care and attention to detail, creating a welcoming space, while respecting its past history as a convent and providing modern rooms and support services for patients, families and carers.
An additional $200k is needed to complete the 12th bedroom and family room which will be able to be used by patients and their families who live further away, larger families, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples or as needed. The Hospice are now accepting Expressions of Interest for Volunteers in Administration, Hospitality and Care & Support. Volunteers will be a crucial part of an integrated workforce and provide a range of non-clinical support, care, and practical help that complements the work of Fitzroy Community Hospice employees, and enhances the provision of excellent palliative care for Central Queenslanders.
