Ross Long’s Adventure on the Capricorn Coast

Capricorn Enterprise recently engaged and commissioned renowned underwater photographer Ross Long to capture the breathtaking beauty of our reef and islands on the Capricorn Coast during a whirlwind 5 nights. Known for his stunning marine life photography, Ross explored the underwater world of Keppel Bay and shared his journey with fans and followers. Here’s a recap of his itinerary:
Day 1 – Ross arrived on the Capricorn Coast and checked in at Seaspray Yeppoon. This charming newly renovated property offered a perfect retreat for Ross to unwind before his adventure began.
Day 2 – The day started early with a 7:30am ferry ride to Great Keppel Island, courtesy of Keppel Konnections, with accommodation hosted by Great Keppel Island Hideaway, after settling in, Ross and the two talent he bought with him (Bella & Mitch) headed out with the Freedom Fast Cats on their adventure cruise, capturing the Glass Bottom Boat, as well as awesome snorkel content at Halfway Island and some fun on the boom nett.
Day 3 – A day of adventure started before breakfast as Ross found Dugongs swimming in the Bay, before embarking on the Kraken full-day trip, hosted by Funtastic Cruises. This trip was off to a “kraken” success with a playful whale hanging around Big Peninsula. Talent Bella & Mitch were able to stand up paddle board nearby, allowing for some amazing videos.
Day 4 – Saturday was spent with Freedom Fast Cats’ Wild Duck, exploring more stunning vistas and photographic opportunities as he explored the coastal waters of Barren Island. More friendly whales were spotted! After returning to the island, he enjoyed a sunset cruise on board the Kraken, capturing the golden hour in all its glory with, you guessed it – some whales putting on a show.
Day 5 & 6 – Last two days of Ross’s visit, he geared up for double dives with Keppel Dive, delving into the vibrant underwater world of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
