Rockhampton Ring Road Update – July 2024

Both the Australian and Queensland governments are committed to delivering the Rockhampton Ring Road (RRR), with the Australian Government investing $1.2 billion and the Queensland Government $530 million into this key infrastructure project, a 14.7 km ring road alignment west of Rockhampton. Construction commenced in November 2023. Progress to the end of June 2024 includes:

North Package 1

− completion of new Boundary Road pavements and drainage structures

− completion of Queensland Ambulance Service driveway

− completion of piling for bridge at Limestone Creek

▪ commencement of sub and super works on Limestone Creek bridge

▪ power relocation works in Dreamtime and QFES

▪ progress of earthworks Section 12 (Bruce Highway Rockhampton-Yeppoon Road).

South Package 1

− Lion Creek bridge side track opened to traffic June 2024

− Rockhampton–Ridgelands Road traffic switch to Osborne Road realignment completed in June 2024

▪ demolition of existing three span Lion Creek Bridge underway

▪ commencement of piling for Lion Creek bridge

▪ construction of site access to preload area off Capricorn Highway underway

▪ Nine Mile Road realignment works ongoing.
