Pre-ATEC Meeting Place Famil

One of Australia’s key ITOs (Inbound Tour Operators) visited our region over the weekend, thanks to Tourism and Events Queensland’s famil program.  Sandra Feustel, GM Product for Pan Pacific last visited our region six years ago, so was impressed with the product development which has occurred over that time. Staying at Great Keppel Island, Yeppoon and Rockhampton, Sandra was hosted by Capricorn Enterprise and our experiences including High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm, Koorana Crocodile Farm, Capricorn Caves, Yeppoon Lagoon/foreshore, Mount Archer Nurim Skywalk and Rockhampton’s Botanic Gardens.  Some downtime allowed our guest to enjoy the retail shops, breweries and cafes in Yeppoon, ANZAC memorial walk at Emu Park, a quick visit to Keppel Sands, and time to take in the magnificent heritage buildings along Rockhampton’s riverfront.  Sandra’s last visit to region included Pumpkin Island, Hedlow Retreat (formerly Henderson Park Farmstay) and Byfield, including Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary, so she was thrilled to learn more about the area prior to heading to ATEC (Australian Tourism Export Council) Meeting Place at the Gold Coast.  Eloise Chaffers and Loni Hammond are attending ATEC Meeting Place on the Gold Coast on behalf of the Southern Great Barrier Reef destination which includes the three regions of Capricorn, Gladstone and Bundaberg.
