The Best of Queensland Experiences Program – Social Media Criteria Update for 2025 Assessment

Following recent consultation with industry and RTOs about the Best of Queensland Experiences Program, the social media criteria will change for the 2025 assessment.

This will be an interim solution as TEQ moves towards implementing more suitable metrics for 2026 and beyond. The current social media criteria has limitations, with the data that can be tracked, how the social platforms change settings with accessing pages to get data. Consumers’ social media habits have also changed with less engagement but more use of short-form video content.

While TEQ continues to scope out what more suitable criteria will be for 2026, this interim solution will simplify the criteria for the 2025 assessment.

The criteria for 2025 assessment will be:

Social media presence, worth 15 points. This will be measured by the social media URL that is in an operator’s ATDW profile. To achieve the 15 points, an operator must have an active social media URL in the Facebook and/or Instagram field.

While the metrics around number of posts and engagement has been removed, it is vitally important to produce engaging content for your social media audience on a regular basis in order to meet consumer expectations. This consistent content will inspire consumers to choose your experience for their next trip.
