Changed traffic conditions on Yaamba Road and access road to local businesses and Easter site shutdown
The Department of Transport and Main Roads advises changed traffic conditions on Yaamba Road (Bruce Highway/Rockhampton–Yeppoon Road intersection) from mid-April 2025, as part of Rockhampton Ring Road construction.
What to expect
The southern traffic lights at the Yaamba Road and Yeppoon Road intersection will be upgraded from 4am Saturday 12 April until 6am Monday 14 April 2025 (please refer to Map 1). This work involves disconnecting and reconnecting electrical services. The traffic lights throughout the intersection will be turned off while work is undertaken.
Single lane closures will also be placed on the local business access road from Yaamba Road between Monday28 April 2025 until Wednesday 7 May 2025, between 6am and 5pm, while fencing and landscaping works are undertaken (please refer to Map 2).
Changed traffic conditions
Traffic movements will be managed under Queensland Police Service and traffic personnel control through the intersection from 4am Saturday 12 April until 6am Monday 14 April 2025.
Single lane closure of the outbound lane from Capricorn Motel and Dreamtime Cultural Centre will be in place from Monday 28 April 2025 until Wednesday 7 May 2025.
Motorists are reminded to drive carefully through the road works area, be aware of changed traffic conditions and to follow the direction of traffic control on site.
Traffic Control: Continuous day and night traffic control will be in place including Queensland Police Service control, lane closures and reduced speeds. Lane width for wide loads and access to local businesses and emergency service precinct will be maintained.
Easter Site Shutdown
The Department of Transport and Main Roads advises that construction activities on Rockhampton Ring Road South, will conclude from 5pm Thursday 17 April and recommence on Monday 28 April 2025.
During the shutdown period, temporary traffic arrangements will remain in place.
Motorists are reminded to drive carefully through the roadworks area, be aware of changed traffic conditions and follow the direction of traffic control on site.
