UpCycle CQ Inc., a regional charitable social enterprise, is based on the Capricorn Coast in Yeppoon. They enable volunteers to engage in community-led renewal through applied circular economy practices that empower individuals to reimagine waste as a source of creative, economic, and social value.
The Four-Corner Challenge Framework for Community-Led Circular Transformation)
1. Break It Down – Skill-building through hands-on disassembly and resource identification
2. Design It – Inspire with open-source design, ingenuity, and community co-creation
3. Prototype It – Fabricate high-value reuses and market-ready upcycled products
4. Share It – Tell compelling stories to shift narratives, raise awareness, and build pride
This model turns e-waste, discarded materials, and surplus goods into a springboard for personal growth, creative enterprise, and regional renewal through innovation.
UpCycle CQ operationalizes circularity through a structured valorization model of five dimensions:
