Department of State Development Welcomes New Regional Director

Richard Austin has been appointed as the new Regional Director for the Department of State Development covering the Fitzroy & Central West region. Richard replaces Phil Henry who retired last week to the good life on the Capricorn Coast.
Richard brings a wealth of knowledge to the position having held senior roles in regional development, business and industry development, local government and tourism. Richard spent almost 20 years working in the tourism industry including working with regional tourism organisations, managing a major tour operation and leading tourism development and investment attraction for the Northern Territory Government.
Since relocating to Queensland with his family, Richard has worked with the Queensland Government focussing on industry and business development in the region, including supporting the development of local business capability and capacity to engage in resource supply chains.
