Flight Centre Expo Sydney a Great Success

The first consumer travel show for 2016 was attended last weekend in Sydney. Capricorn Enterprise Tourism Marketing Manager Dee Bowd attended the annual Flight Centre Expo on behalf of the Southern Great Barrier Reef destination (Capricorn, Gladstone and Bundaberg regions). Positive feedback has been received about enquiries to our white sandy island beaches and definitely potential visitors interested in ‘new’ Queensland destinations, with Queensland and Western Australia, the ONLY domestic stands at the show (the rest international). Competition is stiff at these shows, with many travellers looking for international ‘deals and packages’, however, there were comments regarding staying ‘at home’ due to the declining dollar.
Travellers were looking for Great Barrier Reef product and relaxed holidays, so our Southern Great Barrier Reef stand fit the bill.
We continue to work hard with our operators to have more product contracted with Infinity Holidays, the wholesaler which sits behind the Flight Centre retail outlets.
