4th annual Keppel Sea Kayak Symposium (1st – 5th July)
This week, Paddle Capricornia embarks on its 4th annual Keppel Sea Kayak Symposium from this Friday 1st July to next Tuesday 5th of July on North Keppel Environmental Education Centre for training, kayak trips and presentations around North Keppel and the surrounding islands. Conducted by the local paddling club, Paddle Capricornia and the North Keppel Island Environmental Education Centre, the Symposium welcomes some of Australia’s most qualified Sea kayak instructors and expedition sea kayakers.
It is expected that the first groups of paddlers will head over to North Keppel at about 7.30am on Friday from the public boat ramps at Rosslyn Bay Harbour.
49th Annual Shell Show (9/10th July)
Next week, the Keppel Bay Shell Club will hold its 49th annual shell show at the Gus Moore Pavilion in the Yeppoon Show Grounds on Saturday 9th July, from 8am until 4.30pm and Sunday 10th July, from 9am until 3pm.
Overseas, interstate and local collectors will be competing in a variety of sections with very high quality shells. Educational and scientific aspects will be apparent, with shells from all over the world. Visitors will be impressed by the dealers with stalls of shells for sale and other stalls and light refreshment.
Everyone is welcome to come see the wonderful, natural beauties from the sea.
