Would you believe Capricorn Enterprise now has the ability to talk to 40,000 journalists, travel and public relation professionals in over 10 countries!? How? We have just formed an exciting partnership with ‘TravMedia’ – the Travel Industry’s Global Media Network!
TravMedia is a great platform to share our content in the digital space and reach a broader audience of writers that we would not have been able to reach before.
Award winning editor and journalist Christine Retschlag, The Global Goddess as she is known, visited the region and was spoilt by the beauty of Pumpkin Island, “The Queensland Island you can hire for $85 a night”. Christine has over 29 years’ experience in the industry working on newspapers and magazines in Australia, Hong Kong, London and Singapore.
Earlier this year Christine explored the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region experiencing the Yeppoon Lagoon, The Waterline Restaurant, High Valley Dawn and Beaches Restaurant at Rosslyn Bay Resort, Whisk Yeppoon, Piggletoes, Salt Yeppoon, Vue Wine and Restaurant Bar, Freedom Fast Cats, Great Keppel Island Holiday Village, Great Keppel Island Hideaway, Empire Apartments, The Edge Restaurant, Saleyards Distillery, the Boathouse and Nurim Ciruit Elevated Boardwalk at Mount Archer National Park.
Since joining TravMedia recently, our region has already been visited by several travel writers and travel professionals.
Another journalist that has been in region recently was Adam Ford, managing editor, travel writer, presenter and commentator at The Big Bus tour and travel guide. Adam’s recent article from his visit, “Rockhampton’s Diverse Dining Scene” showcased Capricorn Enterprise members the Boathouse, Headrick’s Lane, Great Western Hotel and Quality Regent Hotel.
Adam also wrote “Rockhampton travel guide” featuring the newly developed river precinct, Archer Park Railway Museum, Capricorn Caves, the Boathouse, Headrick’s Lane, the Great Western Hotel, Gardens Tearooms, Nurim Circuit Elevated Boardwalk, Quality Regent Hotel and many other outstanding eateries. Adam was pleasantly surprised at the diversity our region offers.
With Gemfest – Festival of Gems just around the corner Jessica Palmer, Travel with Jess, family blogger, who travelled with her family to Carnarvon Gorge and the Sapphire Gemfields. wrote “Gem Fossicking in Queensland – Fun for the Whole Family”. This really is the perfect time of year to explore Queensland’s Sandstone Wilderness.
With such amazing stories coming out of our beautiful Region we now have the potential to reach a wider audience than ever before with TravMedia. The Capricorn Coast and Southern Great Barrier Reef is such sought after destination for travel writers, and we cannot wait to see what stories we can generate in the coming 6 months.
Last week we also hosted one of the travel industry’s most experienced Inbound Tour Operators, Rafael Duwenbeck, General Manager Operations at Insight Australia Travel (Raf was formerly with Pacific Destinations), specialising in tailored group tours. During his visit Rafael and his family stayed at Travelodge Rockhampton, Salt Yepppon and Great Keppel Island Hideaway, was absolutely wowed by the Rockhampton Riverfront redevelopment and the Yeppoon foreshore redevelopment/Yeppoon Lagoon and Capricorn Caves. They dined at many of our fantastic cafes and restaurants and were absolutely impressed with the friendly service they received everywhere!
