Major upgrade for Stanage Bay boat ramp

Capricorn Coast boaties will reel in delight with a planned $2.1 million upgrade to the Stanage Bay boat ramp.  Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said work is due to commence following the Easter school holidays, and is scheduled for completion in October 2019.  “Once complete, boaties hooked on Stanage Bay will be able to make the most of two 4m wide lanes, a new 2.5m wide floating walkway and a new breakwater, providing greater protection from the elements,” Mr Bailey said.

Stanage Bay is the gateway to some of the Capricorn Coast’s most sought after fishing locations.  In addition to delivering better facilities for anglers, the upgrade is likely to generate an economic boost for the local area.

The existing ramp will remain partially open during construction with one lane remaining open and a traffic management plant set up by the contractor.
