Networking with Tourism and Events Queensland

Gold and Platinum Tourism Members of Capricorn Enterprise attended a networking lunch with two key representatives from Tourism Events Queensland on Wednesday 19th February at Beaches Bistro at Rosslyn Bay. 

Tourism Events Queensland’s Destination Leader for the Great Barrier Reef, Dana Potter, provided an inspiring pre-lunch presentation,.   Dana shared an insightful overview of her role and explained how local operators can work via Capricorn Enterprise to leverage opportunities. Dana was supported by Maria Bartlett who also works in TEQ’s Great Barrier Reef Destination Team. 

During the networking event, Ross O’Reilly, owner of Beaches Restaurant and High Valley Dawn Farm in Yeppoon, shared his passion for serving fresh, local, organically grown produce and his strong vision to implement the permaculture mission of earth care, people share, fair share and community.

In addition to the networking luncheon, the Tourism Events Queensland representatives were treated to an intensive familiarisation of the region’s products including Capricorn Caves, Henderson Park, Saleyards Distillery, Dreamtime Cultural Centre, Denison Boutique Hotel, Boathouse Restaurant, Yeppoon Lagoon and Foreshore, Cooberrie Park and Byfield.
