Capricorn Coast campaign urges Queenslanders to ‘Holiday here this year’

Capricorn Enterprise will launch a user-generated landmark campaign this weekend, designed to encourage the Central Queensland region (including our traditional western markets) as well as Mackay, to pack up the family, jump in the car, and take the drive to #visitcapricorn and discover what’s on offer in our magical #southerngreatbarrierreef destination.

Showcasing images and videos of UNREAL holidays by REAL holiday makers, phase two of this promotional campaign follows the successful launch of the 2020 Yeppoon and Capricorn Coast Insider’s Guide, which was the first travel brochure of its kind for a Queensland destination, using images sourced from real Instagram accounts.

The comprehensive booklet, which was released in December last year, provides visitors and locals with detailed information on attractions, events, accommodation, restaurants, retail, arts, national parks and more, and was completely populated with images taken by visitors and local day trippers to the Capricorn Coast region. With a wealth of inspiration at the fingertips of those dreaming of their next holiday, Capricorn Enterprise has further developed a user-generated television commercial which captures the attention of today’s savvy travellers using a more dynamic and personalised approach.

“Real is powerful and by revealing our destination through using genuine imagery from actual holiday makers to our region, we are creating authentic content for those considering their next trip away,” said Capricorn Enterprise CEO, Mary Carroll.

Piggybacking off the successful ‘Holiday here this year’ advertising currently on our screens from Tourism and Events Queensland, Capricorn Enterprise is strongly encouraging our neighbours to come and explore our untouched reef and islands, endless stretches of white sandy beaches, and the natural landscapes of our national parks and forests.

“The coming months are the perfect time of year to immerse yourself in the laid-back beauty of the Capricorn Coast. With loads of family-friendly activities on offer without the hustle and bustle of crowds, we invite you to come stay and play throughout Autumn,” said Mary.

Many local tourism operators including accommodation providers, tours and experiences have jumped onboard the campaign to provide exclusive holiday deals for our northern friends looking to book their next holiday here.

Great Keppel Island Hideaway has put together a cracker deal for four nights in a family room or island cabin on our beautiful island paradise. With a suite of inclusions including return ferry transfers, use of non-powered water sports paddle boards and kayaks, ½ hour massage for mum, breakfast on the first morning, late check out and more, this offer is too good to pass by. More deals can be found at www.visitcapricorn.com.au from 7th March.

The television commercial, on screens from 8th March, will run for 3 weeks and will be accompanied by a 3 month social media and online advertising campaign.

Stay tuned as we say ‘Hello from Great Keppel Island, Yeppoon and the Capricorn Coast’!
