A celebrity point of Vue

The team at Vue Wine Bar and Restaurant in Yeppoon were thrilled to rub shoulders with celebrity chef, Alastair McLeod last week, as he shared his skills and passion with our local chefs. From beer battered king prawns, twice cooked Picanha and Parisian tart, hungry guest’s taste buds were treated to a culinary frenzy as Alastair and the Vue team shared their fine art.

This being his first visit to Yeppoon, Alastair and Sous Chef, Darryl were full of praise with what was on offer in our Capricorn Coast village, especially the beachfront infrastructure with its modern facilities.

The Ready, Steady, Cook, Queensland Weekender and ABC Radio star passionate about using local produce and reducing his carbon ‘food’print, was extremely impressed with Vue’s operations and spoke highly of the set-up, functionality and professionalism of our local dining hotspot.

He noted a real comradery between owners and employees which shone through in the effectiveness of Vue’s establishment and success.

Vue owners Grant and Tanya Lynch were honored to host the renowned chef with staff excited to have a chef of his calibre in their restaurant. “Alastair was engaging, informative, hand’s on and extremely entertaining,” Tanya said. “The food served was incredible and we cannot wait to continue the relationship and get him back again in the future.”

“This was a fabulous opportunity for our team to be further inspired, motivated and work alongside Alastair and learn from his experience and we are all so proud that he spoke so highly of not only our restaurant, but our beautiful coastal destination.”

Capricorn Enterprise CEO, Mary Carroll was thrilled to have the much-loved chef and TV personality in the region. “Alastair’s experience in the kitchen is extensive and he has worked at Michelin listed restaurants across the world as well as top class restaurants in Brisbane,” Mary said. “To have him share his knowledge and skill with Vue’s local chefs, and also take away some of our own exceptional local flair and flavour is a fabulous opportunity and I congratulate Tanya and Grant for making it happen and bringing this prominent character to our patch.”

The Brisbane-based chef believes that good food is simple food and he is an ardent supporter of keeping all things local. His motto of ‘the closer you are to the source of your food, the better it will taste and the smaller the carbon footprint you will create’ is clear in everything he does and says.

Vue Wine Bar and Restaurant extends their sincere thanks to Alastair and Darryl for sharing their expertise, passion and delicious food with staff and community attending this special event.
