Seven months after turning the first sod on the multi-million-dollar Bunnings Warehouse in Yeppoon, Australian property developers, Gibb Group, are excited to announce that Fresh Trading Co and Bunnings, are both set to open to the local community in May.
Bunnings Warehouse Yeppoon opened their doors to the local community on 3 May, and is the largest project for Yeppoon Road’s vibrant new retail centre. The new Warehouse spans nearly 9,000 square metres and is over 7,000 square metres larger than the existing local store. Fresh Trading Co. is set to open on 13 May.
Queensland builder De Luca Corporation built the Bunnings Warehouse, with Procon Developments completing construction of the Fresh Trading Co Service Station. Together these projects created over 400 jobs during the construction period alone.
With Fresh Trading Co constructed in under five and a half months, and the Bunnings facility in seven months, the two new businesses are set to enhance the Capricorn Coast Homemaker Centre, joining Reece Plumbing, and, once complete, Hungry Jacks and Gus’ Coffee.
Senior Development Manager for Gibb Group, Angus Holloway, said he was pleased to see the first phase of the Homemaker Centre come to life.
“A lot of hard work has gone into constructing the Bunnings and Fresh Trading Co. stores. We are looking forward to being part of the opening of these two businesses, and excitedly await the completion of the remaining two constructions, which will further complement the Centre,” Angus said.
With the second national retailer ready to open its doors within the $35M Capricorn Coast Homemaker Centre, Capricorn Enterprise CEO Mary Carroll commends Gibb Group for continuing to invest in the local community and provide opportunities that will boost employment and economic activity.
“We are delighted with the positive development that has progressed to date for the destination’s home and hardware retail location,” Mary said. “Gibb Group, together with their construction partners and other stakeholders, have certainly delivered on their vision for the Capricorn Coast.”
